Is this different from regular SEO?
Yes. SEO gets you ranked in Google's list of blue links. AEO — Answer Engine Optimization — gets you mentioned by name when someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini a question. Different signals matter: schema markup, clear factual statements, and being cited by other sites matter more than backlinks or keyword density.
Do I need a big website for this to work?
No. We've run audits on one-person consulting sites and 50-page SaaS sites. What matters is whether the AI models can find clear, structured information about what you do and who you serve — not how many pages you have.
What if AI already mentions my business?

What counts as a "citation" in your reports?
A citation is any point where ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini names your business, links to your site, or recommends you in response to a query. We track this the same way we'd track a backlink — except it happens inside a conversation instead of a search results page.
Why don't backlinks matter as much for AI search?
They still matter, just less. Our data shows brand mentions correlate at 0.664 with AI citations, versus 0.218 for backlinks. AI models are trained on text that talks about you, not just text that links to you — so a Reddit thread mentioning your product by name can outweigh a technical backlink.
Do you guarantee a specific AI visibility score or ranking?
No, and be skeptical of anyone who does. AI platforms update their models and training data on their own schedule, outside anyone's control. What we guarantee is an accurate, honest read of where you stand today and specific, prioritized fixes — not a promised outcome.
Can I use this if I already work with an SEO agency?
Yes — most of our Pro Audit customers already have someone handling traditional SEO. AEO is a separate discipline your current agency may not be tracking yet. Bring the report to them, or ask us directly what to prioritize first.
What happens to my data after I run an audit?
